Knysna is a popular holiday destination in an attractive setting. Its lagoon is home to over 200 species of fish and to the rare sea-horse Hippocampus capensis. Knysna has a fascinating history, and was home, from 1803 until his death in 1839, of the almost legendary George Rex. The town is famous for its oysters and its mysterious forest.
