Jansenville Municipality
Jansenville was founded in 1854 and is situated north of the Zuurberg Mountains in an area of the Karoo known as the Noorsveld, named after a cactus like succulent with a bitter, milky sap that abounds in the district. The town is located on the banks of the Sunday River. The district is well known for its Angora stud farms and great hunting opportunities.
