The Database For The Accommodation Industry In South Africa (DAISA)
Who is DAISA?
DAISA is a national database that gives guesthouse owners now has the opportunity to review clients before they check in. The database serves as a platform where guesthouse owners can warn each other of client’s habits whether good or bad. On the DAISA website guests can be reviewed and the database can be searched.
The website also serves as a booking site which offers guesthouse owners the opportunity
to list their establishments to generate more bookings.
How long does it take for reviews to be visible?
The database is live. The moment you press enter your review will be visible.
What about the POPI Act?
Even though the information on the database is only visible to members and is in the interest of the industry, our attorney drafted a clause that must be added to the client register.
Who all can become members of DAISA?
Even though we in general talk about guesthouses, basically every establishment that offers clients the opportunity to overnight on their premises are more than welcome to become members. This includes, but is not limited to guesthouses, B&B’s, lodges, camping grounds and caravan parks, hotels, cottages, resorts etc.
How can I join DAISA?
Simply visit our website www.daisa.co.za and click on the sign in tab. You will then be redirected to a page where you can register.
What are the costs involved?
- DAISA Free (Membership expires after 14 days
- D.A.I.S.A. (1 listing) R330 admin fee and then R50 per month
- D.A.I.S.A. (2 listings) R660 admin fee and then R75 per month
- D.A.I.S.A. (3 listings) R990 admin fee and then R100 per month
- D.A.I.S.A. (4 listings) R1320 admin fee and then R125 per month
- D.A.I.S.A. (5 listings) R1650 admin fee and then R150 per month
Are there any other fees?
No. DAISA does not take any commissions or any other fees.
How are payments made?
We make use of the Payfast payment portal on the DAISA website. Payfast is a secure and leading online payment system designed for the South African market. For more info visit their website www.payfast.io
